Respected sir/Madam,

Like every year this year also we are ready for *GEOSYNERGY'10* which is the technical festival organised by department of Earth Sciences Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee under *COGNIZANCE* .*GEOSYNERGY'10* this time will be focusing on energy in all its forms and its impounding effect on Indian economy in the present century . This time it will inculcate topics of academic interest such as natural hazard assessment, newer trends in exploration geosciences ,Clean Energy resources etc.and beside above numerous activities will be organized such as *IDEAZ, SPOTLIGHT EVENT, SPECTRUM EVENT , ONLINE EVENTS , GUEST LECTURES , WORKSHOP* , etc...

The main motivation behind organising such mega event is the constant source of inspiration and guidence which we all believe will be the most essential factor in carrying such events and above all this time we have included many such events which will not only attract students and earth scientists from different universities across India but also extended it to foreign counterparts and we do expect their active participation by their initial responses.

The *GEOSYNERGY'10* this year will be carried out by active coordination of all the faculty members by their constant guidence and motivation ,besides all the present students in the department and for the same we request you all ( *Alumini)* to show a keen interest and involvement throughout the event and make this endeavour a success.

The different teams for such events have been made which will monitor the entire spectrum of the events respectively and are doing their best to add a vibrant colour and utmost ingenuity and draw maximum participation and we look towards your active participation and suggestions that will of immence help in carrying out this event like previous years and by your such active involvement will definitely make a difference.

This year we are also quite optimistic to bring out our Hamrock Society annual magazine *VASUNDHARA -2010* in print and the literature team has already started their efforts in this direction and will get into touch with you all very soon .

We request all our faculty members, alumini ,non-teaching staffs ,students and above all *PROUD HAMROCKIAN'S* to feel a part of *GEOSYNERGY'10 *and their active participation , guidence , suggestions , and *Monetary assistance* so that all the above stated endeavour can be given shape and carried out successfully this year.
